Delete your account and data
Hidaya: The Islamic Path (Android app, com.roninzak.hidaya),

You can delete your Hidaya account and everything stored with it, either yourself in the app or by asking us. Both routes are described below. There is no charge and no waiting period.
Option 1: delete it yourself in the app
This is immediate and needs nothing from us. Open Hidaya on your phone and go to:
Profile tab → Settings → Account and privacy → Delete account
Confirm when asked. Your account is deleted straight away, and the app returns to the welcome screen.
Option 2: ask us to delete it
Use this if you have uninstalled the app, lost access to the Google account you signed in with, or would simply prefer we do it. Email us at:
Please include:
- the subject line Delete my Hidaya account,
- the email address of the Google account you used to sign in, so we can find the right account.
We will confirm within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days, as required under the GDPR. We only use the details in your request to carry out the deletion, and we delete the request itself once it is done.
What deletion removes
Deleting your account permanently removes all of the following from our servers. It is not an archive or a deactivation. The data is gone and cannot be restored, by you or by us.
- Your sign-in record, including your email address, your Google or Apple account name, your profile picture URL if Google provided one, and the identifier linking you to Google or to your Apple ID. If you signed in with Apple, the token we hold for your Apple ID is used one last time, to tell Apple to revoke Hidaya's access, and is then deleted.
- Your profile, including the name you entered, your onboarding answers about your goal, prayer rhythm and Quran experience, your optional answer about whether you are a woman or a man, and your saved city and country.
- Your activity log, the dated record of prayers, readings, dhikr, tasbih rounds and fasts you logged, along with your streak and consistency history.
- Your saved items and settings, including bookmarked ayahs and hadith, adhkar progress, saved surahs, tasbih settings and lifetime dhikr counts, and your chosen theme.
- Your entitlement record, meaning your premium flag and trial start date.
On the device itself, deleting your account from inside the app also clears your locally saved progress and settings and signs you out. If you delete by email instead, remove the remaining local copy by uninstalling the app, or on Android by clearing its storage in Settings.
What is kept, and for how long
We would rather state this than let you discover it later. Three things survive account deletion, and none of them are held by us for any purpose beyond the ones listed:
- Purchase records. If you bought the lifetime unlock, the record of that purchase remains with Google Play or the App Store and with RevenueCat, our purchase infrastructure provider. These are needed to validate entitlements, to honour refunds, and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Deleting your Hidaya account does not cancel or refund a purchase. For a refund, contact Google Play or Apple.
- Donation records. If you made a voluntary donation, Stripe retains the payment record under its own retention policy, and we retain what accounting and fraud prevention law requires. We hold no card details at any point.
- Your Google account connection. Deleting your Hidaya account signs you out but does not remove Hidaya from the list of apps connected to your Google account. You can remove it yourself at myaccount.google.com/permissions. (An Apple ID connection is different: it is revoked for you as part of the deletion.)
Beyond these, nothing about you is retained. There are no backups of your account data kept separately, no analytics profile, and no advertising profile, because the app contains no analytics or advertising code at all.
Signing out instead
If you only want to leave the app rather than erase it, sign out instead of deleting. Signing out (Profile tab → Settings → Account and privacy → Sign out) keeps your account and your progress, and you can sign back in with the same Google account at any time.
